We are going to Sicily, finally, and during these weeks we have been working on the visits that we are going to see, and we have many questions...

FARM CULTURAL PARK

  • How did this all start? Who had the idea of starting this “art gallery” or “art space”

  • How do you keep all this intact?

  • How many volunteers do you usually have?

  • How is your everyday here and role here? Is it fun?

  •  What makes this place stand out from other museums?

  •   What do you find the most interesting about your job as a staff here?

  •  Which piece of art attracts the most tourists?

RISERVA DELLO ZANGARO

  •  Have you ever had any kind of problem with tourists that did not respect the environment and “contaminated this space”?

  •  Do you think everyone is doing everything they can to maintain this space clean, or is there something we can do to make it better?

  •  Do you have any tips to keep the environment clean?

  • Between what zones we can find the different routes?

  • Do some tourist throw trash in this place?

GOLE DELL ALCANTARA

  • Is the water always clean here or has there been any time where the water was polluted?

  • Do you think it will always stay like this or will it get worse with time and with the tourists that will explore this?

  • Does the amount of water that is in here changes depending on the season or does it always stay the same?

  • Do the tourists that come here keep the water clean?

  • Do you have any tips for us, tourists, to be able to keep this place clean?

Y muchas más que iremos pensando. Os tendremos informados. Ciao.

And many more that we will think about.  We will keep you informed.  Ciao.

On Sunday the 21st we begin our adventure in Italy. We took two flights, the first from Santander to Bergamo and the second was a bit complicated, since the Edna volcano had erupted. Our flight was redirected to Palermo, from where we spent our time alone the first night. The second day we took all the other alumni and teachers to Palermo, where we spent the day sightseeing and we all slept in a hotel. The third day we left ready, since we will use several hours by bus to the Reserva delllo Zíngaro, where we traveled several kilometers and took the strength to take a bath in one of the beaches. After this we went to Cannicati, the town where the Italian students are, and each one left with their respective host families. The fourth day was very complete, since we did several activities. We are going to visit the Valle dei Templi, Agrigento, where we explain a little about their history. Around twelve we took the bus and went to Scala dei Turchi. Here we all ate together in a restaurant next to the beach and several of us took a bath. Our day did not end, so every day we did not visit the Farm Cultural Park, a town where there was an art exhibition. We finished this day tired and we went to Cannicati, where each one was with their families. The fourth day began in the new morning, on the way to Gole dell’Alcantara.  Located about 20 km from Taormina, the gorges are real canyons made of black lava walls up to 50 meters high, in the typical shape of a prism that the rocks have taken during the cooling process. After that we went to Taormina, one of the best known cities in Sicily. Here we have free time to explore the city. We went to Cannicati the last day before the return trip. In the morning we went to the Italian Alumni Institute. Here we studied the realization of the project and we delivered the diplomas in the library. After this each one left with their families and at 19:30 in the afternoon we all went to the palace, where we spent the night singing, dancing and eating at the farewell party. At nightfall there are many tears, as we are all very sad to have spent those nights, still very happy for the experience and the people we meet. The last day was the day of the Vuelta a España, we bought a bus at 9:40 in the morning, to Catania airport and from there a flight to Bolonia, where we went up for two hours and then I chose another flight to Santander. It has been a very nice experience for everyone and from which we have learned a lot. Never if we are going to forget the records created during this week by the people we know.
